That's a tad untrue, Toffoli played left wing all year and Tatar is healthy just scratched.
Just a tad. Toffoli didn’t start on the left and Tatar being scratched doesn’t take away fact he was top 2 LW during year. He sucked in limited playoff duty though. Again

I guess that's all you can come back with when I comment with facts. It's ok. Even if the Canadiens win the Cup, they're still not a good team. They're average, but riding a hot wave with alot of luck. Don't even need to look at advanced stats prove it, like I said, just the normal %save is enough to prove it's a fluke. Go read stuff that's not on RDS, buddy lol

Hum.. fluke a fact ? How do you measure it ?

Shots from the perimeter = high % save
Surprisingly, Jets and Knights were not willing to pay the price to get shots from the paying zone. As for the Leafs, well every one knew that.

And that is a fact.

People always underrate Montreal’s roster (well, their skaters anyway) because they don’t have that star forward. That could still hold them back from winning the SCF, but there’s something to be said for a roster that just has a lot of good hockey players (or, not a lot of bad hockey players). They have a deep team. I’ve been saying their roster is underrated for a couple years now.

Montreal has many stars on their team they either

a) haven't entered their prime yet: Suzuki, Caufield, possible Kotkoneimi

b) are past their prime but still contributing greatly: Weber, Perry, Staal

c) playing a role that wouldn't be considered 'star-worthy': for example is probably the best shutdown forward, but even though he's a best that won't make him a star in any ones eyes.

d) are Carey Price and why are you forgetting that he's a superstar?

Congratulations to the Canadiens. Personally didn’t think they’d get past the Leafs or the Jets but they’ve caught lightning in a bottle. Not sure whether they’ll be favourites against Tampa but I wouldn’t bet against them. Must be something in the water in Montreal. Good luck in the finals.

Belated congrats to the Habs.
They found a way to get it done.
The Stanley Cup playoffs continue to prove that being good at the right time is more important then being the best team all the time.

We have to assume the Bolts will be the toughest test to date.
Even if Montreal falls short in the finals they've already way over achieved and have to be proud of their season and efforts.

Let the 93 curse end.

Good luck in the finals.

On paper Tampa should win especially with the cap loophole. But mtl was supposed to lose to everyone they played. Should be good

Can't see a team who has Pacioretty leading their team winning anything... The guy does everything but show the example. Avoiding ditry areas, floating waiting for a good pass. In his time in Montréal he never showed he cared about anything but himself. Was so happy when we traded him. Maybe on a stacked team where he would be the 4-5th best forward, he could win but you can't expect this guy to lead the way. No idea how he became captain on the habs. Such a frustrating player to watch. Great shot and a good skater but hockey is so much more than just skills. We're seeing it right now on the habs. Everybody is willing to sacrifice themselves to get the win. Hell that's why Tatar is scratched. He kinda plays the same way as Pacioretty, always in periphery.

Pacioretty is a good guy, but he doesn't have a high enough compete for playoffs.

He is like Stamkos. If he can be 5-6-7th best player on his team, he will be fine. If he is counted on to be top 3, you're in trouble.

Caufield is playing like a star right now. People are starting to notice, but he'll need to post some regular season numbers before the spotlight is fully on him. Still, can't get over how good he's been playing in these playoffs. Haven't seen a forward as good as him in forever in Montreal.

Hes certainly playing like a star but he is obviously not an established elite talent.

Certainly is showing he has the potential to be one
