Sweet…two power forwards in the top 10 in Martone and McQueen.

Aitcheson is my guess for potential riser… physical monster that profiles like a Trouba… or at least a Bieksa.

Spence 5th seems complicated to me. Born a week earlier, he would have been eligible in 2024 and would be between 17 and 32.

Ryabkin is way too low in comparison considering the exceptional aspect of his U17 performances

Benak is too high (has stagnated this season, very small size)

Trethewey is way too low (best American 07' with rare profile)

Akhmadullin still hasn't played a game in the MHL, so no.

Afterwards, there are other choices that I will discuss but these 5 seem to me to be the most necessary to review.

I'm interested in the 2025 draft myself and I'm currently researching different prospects. I'd like to know your thoughts and opinions on this list and who you think is missing or too high, etc.

-Malcolm Spence, everything I've seen and read so far seems to indicate he's a top 20 prospect, From reports it seems its about more than goals/assists for him. I think scouts like his size and maybe his power forward potential, but do you see him slipping or what do you think?

-Ivan Ryabkin, He seems to be getting a lot of hype this season and do you see him as the best euro prospect for 2025. I know Anton Frondell is getting a lot of praise to, who do you like better? Also how does Ryabkin compare to more recent hyped Russian players like Ivan Demidov('24), Matvei Michkov('23), or Ivan Miroshnichenko('22)?

-Adam Benak, Its unfortunate about his size, and his low scoring totals in the Czechia league this season just 1 assist so far, but from what I've seen of some highlights he's still creating a lot of offensive chances and missed a few himself so not sure what to think. He looks extremely fast and skilled and certainly looks like he has the talent of a high end NHL prospect, but just his size seems really small right now and I'm guessing he wont grow much more. Do you still see him as the top Czech in 2025 or has he been surpassed. I know you said Benak has stagnated a bit. How far do you see him sliding down the draft board.

-What are your impressions on the USA U17 players. Obviously you like Charlton Trethewey but how about Cullen Potter, I've seen him mentioned as a top 20 pick also Drew Schock and Asher Barnett, just what are your impressions of this team and some of the more promising players?

-Missing players, who do you think is missing. Not sure myself but I've heard Karl Annborn and Ruslan Karimov could be risers

The author made a good list and I don't pretend to do better. Aside from what I consider errors, his list is impeccable.

I don't have time today to go into detail but here is my list for December 2023

The list is already two months old.

I would like to point out a few usual drawbacks:

Very underrated Russian prospects 18 months before the draft

Canadian prospects rather overrated 18 months before the draft

2006 players will be lower overall

Florian Schenk, i made a mistake.

A guy who confirms at every event that he is the Swiss number 1.

Haven't seen him play but he has a big physical size which can make him interesting on a bottom 6 while he seems to have the skills to be effective in scoring. Excellent transition between U17 and U20 Switzerland.

The players at the bottom of the list are really very uncertain. I'm waiting to see during the U18 tournament, he should be selected.

After 20th place, mid-season, without having access to information regarding the Russians and Americans, with the 2008 Canadians still in Midget, it's very difficult to be sure. It is rather a profile probability that I am highlighting.

Maybe in 18 months I won't have him in my top 223-4.
I'm even rather skeptical about him being in the 1st round but I had to put names and balance between the regions.

At this stage (18 months before draft) only 16 to 20 players will be in the 1st round and obviously, the vast majority will be those ranked in the 1st half of the list.

Ryabkin at 4 and Ihs Wozniak at 15. Whats the difference between them, that produced such a difference in rankings?

One has the PPG U17 record in the history of his country, the other is 2nd of his generation in this statistic.

Haven't seen Ryabkin play but he looks immensely strong.

At this stage, it is very approximate but considering the usual rank of a Russian of this caliber, 4th is honest.

Ihs Wozniak can be mounted in relation to his profile but I wanted to put different profiles before him.

Ryabkins stats are good, but who is his competition? Michkov was in his D-2 season, Svechnikov was in USHL. And MHL has been created too late for Kovalchuk/Ovechkin/Malkin I agree, he is a TOP 10 for now, but I cant see how there is so much difference between him and JIW, who has similar stats in similar league and who also is 6'3.
His stats are on par with Holtz, Raymond and Carlsson in their D-1 years, and those were very high picks in the draft.
Regarding 2nd in his generation, he as a 6'3 center is slightly below Frondell, who is a 6'0 winger. It is not much, just Frondell has played at some internationals that JIW did not

His stats are records so they are exceptional stats. According the fact that Michkov, Simashev, Demidov and Silayev were or will be select(ed) very high, I will not be surprised to see a Russian very high in 2025 and it will probably be this Russian.

Perhaps I have Ihs Wozniak too low, but as already said, I preferred to favor other profiles rather than accumulating centers in the top 10.

The fact that I wasn't impressed with him at the U17 tournament weighed heavily.
