Nice work. I think if York is still there at 15 the Habs would take him, though. They have lots of forward prospects but adding another quality D prospect is probably the pick this year.

It's okay guys, it's an early mock draft, the year is written, "way too early" is subjective anyway. Just enjoy the work.

I like the exercise you did. Like another said, I think the Habs would target a LHD with their pick. Mostly one of Heinola or York. I think they'd also strongly consider Newhook, Suzuki, Lavoie.

If Kings could leave the draft with Kakko and Robertson I'd be beyond ecstatic... Mostly that we got Kakko yet like Robertson with the TOR pick too

Don't know much about Lassi Thomson, but Lavoie and Cozens isn't a bad haul whatsoever. That said, if Newhook or Seider are still there when the WPG pick is approaching, I'd love to see the Rangers trade up a bit to get one of them.

So MN takes another Swedish RHD one year after taking F. Johansson(RHD) in the 1st , and S. Johansson(RHD)? I don't think so.

Thanks for the mock!

As the Oilers though, I would definitely take Turcotte if he falls to us at #7. He's probably my 3rd-4th pick.

Thats not a bad mock for us. Three high upside players. Thomson is almost like a knockoff Wilde.

You and I have very different definitions of “way too early.” Good list, though.
Haha, was thinking the same thing. The seasons are just about over and that's when you can have the first "legitimate" list where you use all info available.

Hope the Pens select later than 23 (I know that you went off standings) but McMichael would be a very solid late first round pick. I’d be very happy with that happening.

If the Canucks are able to get one of Turcotte, Zegras, Krebs at 9, I'd be very happy. I do think they will go before Dach and Cozens though.

My top 10 is:
1 Hughes
2 Kakko
3 Byram
4 Turcotte
5 Podkolzin
6 Zegras
7 Dach
8 Krebs
9 Cozens
10 Boldy

Top 2 are locked in. 3-5 could go in any order. 6-10 are a toss up as well.

Thanks for this, I think we're starting to see draft positions being fleshed out. Be interesting to see what the final draft results will be.

My logic was Oilers need scoring wingers not another centre. If you take Turcotte, I gotta think RNH would be gone in a year or 2 when Turcotte's ready.

At some point the Wild HAVE to take a goal scorer. Two sitting there in Caufield and Kaliyev.

Maybe, but they need a top 6 C even more. Koivu and Staal are fading fast, and Ek is offensively challenged. I would Newhook over them if he is still there at 12.
