Was Crosby's "goal of the year" copied from Bobby Orr?

I was watching some of Orr's highlight's today and I think I spotted something remarkable. He does the same "goal of the year" as Crosby complete to the one hand shot.

Check out the goal at 4:59

When Sid scored that people said "it has never been done before" etc. I found it fascinating that Orr was able to do that same play decades earlier.

Barkov did this in a shootout a while back, against the Pens.

Schultz had a nice little pick play going there at the blue line which gave Crosby tons of room to cut down the middle. Nice finish, although I'd hardly say it's a goal of the year.

Orr probably even did it at even strength, like a real generational talent :sarcasm:

I thought you made 4 other threads that were his goal of the year. And the snipping lindqvuists head was the one I believe most said doesn't happen often.

Without a replay on the Orr example I cannot say for sure if the puck had gone in already, but I definitely see the follow up put in afterwards. Still another fine example of his all time excellence either way.

I thought the impressive thing about Crosby's goal was the amount of lift he managed to get under that puck.

Both are outstanding plays, doesn't really matter whether Crosby had seen that play before

Over 100 years of hockey, most plays are bound to be repeated, in many cases many times. It does not mean anyone is "copying" anyone else. This is silly.
