I'm finding it really hard to locate Tikhonov's coaching record post-1998. Can anyone offer any insight?

I'm just looking for a list of which teams he coached in which seasons, and what the records of those teams were.

if it helps. He was the coach of CSKA Moscow although he was the coach of the national team for most of the time with the club. There is actually stats on HockeyDB. They are not great though.

1979.................G.......W......L......T......Pts.....GF....GA....PIM
CSKA Moscow.....44.....35......7......2......72.....277...131...539

As far as I know he coached Moscow from 78-91

Thanks for trying, but I'm looking for post-1998 specifically. The book Kings Of The Ice details his pre-1998 years quite well.

Sorry I missread. thought you wanted pre-1998. haha silly me. Has he done much coaching post-98? I know he came back to russian national team for awhile but other than that I dont think he has been involved that much on coaching level. Specially since Fetisov came in to power in CSKA and Russian sports.

Thank you. Are you sure that is all the elite league coaching he did? Was there more in first or second division?

Where did these come from exactly (source)? Usually eliteprospects.com is good about having complete details - even for this kind of thing - and yet it only shows what I was aware of: assistant coach of Dynamo Moscow (64/65)->head coach of Riga (68/69-76/77 as they rose from 3rd division to RSL)->head coach of CSKA Moscow and national team (77/78-93/94)->head coach of just CSKA Moscow (94/95-95/96). It just occurred to me that I had no idea he even coached after that (that last year was my first year of university, which is a complete blur/blank, so...).

Interesting fact - Tikhonov was fired as CSKA coach in 1995, so he went and formed his own team (HC CSKA). So basically for a while Russian league had two Red Army teams at the same time, although Boris Mikhailov was the coach of the real one....not Tikhonov.

No... HC CSKA is the hockey branch of CSKA.

He was coaching national team in 2003-04. The World Championships were big failure, Russia ended in 10th or so. But that year there was very unbalanced distribution between the groups, of the top 7 countries five (Finland, Slovakia, USA, Sweden, Russia) on the other side and only two (Czech Republic, Canada) on the another. THe reason was the failure of team USA previous year.
