Glad to see he was claimed, better than having 100k on the cap. Didn't think much of him, so not upset in the least. Now if they could get rid of Mashinter, things are looking up.

Next move is to make a decision on Rundblad. Waiver drop or sweetner in a trade so that Gus or Svedberg can get back up.

I think Stan is so afraid of an Anton Stralman situation with Rundblad. Stralman was released off a PTO and now he's a top defender in the league. It's just shocking that a guy with Rundblad's skill and pedigree will be nothing for his entire NHL career.

well he is not going to get any better wearing a suit in the press box......

waive him if he gets plucked great, if not send him to rockford where he can play and perhaps develop and become trade bait.....

at this point he is just rotting.......

A guy given up on by 4 organizations who has proven to be disaster on ice has no value let alone as sweetener in trade

The best we will get is a 6th or 7th for Rundblad. The only true potential he has right now is that he could develop into a PP specialist that plays limited minutes as a #6 dman. I do think a team would take a chance on him but our return will be minimal if anything.

I think Rundblad would be picked up by a bottom feeder team looking for a cheap D man who once had high expectations. But, I can't see anyone taking him as the main piece of a trade.

Annoyed about Tik tho. I hope this doesn't piss off Panarin too much because I don't think Tik got a fair shake in Chicago. Out of Tik, Kero, and Mash, I think Tik was the best out of all of them.

I agree with this. While I wish we would have given him a better chance here because he can play I am happy he will get a chance in Phoenix. You can tell from his interviews and quote he is good guy and he deserves a chance to play more. I do with we could have got a 6th or 7th for him but oh well.

These guys are adults and I am sure that Panarin understands this is how the NHL works. If anything he will appreciate the Hawks giving his buddy a chance to flourish somewhere else. You are worrying about this too much.

We'll agree to disagree on this one. Yeah they're adults, but I think there is something to be said for the combination of them both coming to Chicago at the same time, Tik helping the transition, them being best friends, making Panarin comfortable as he left his entire family in Russia to travel across the globe to pursue his dream to play in the NHL, much against his family's desire. IDK, maybe this is a complete non-factor. I'm not going to pretend to know. This might not hurt, but I guarantee it doesn't help. That's my point of view on this one. And it's not like Tik was waived so a superior player could take his roster spot, there are still two guys on the team that I see as inferior to him.

I don't think Panarin will be pissed off

I do fear that Panarin could have troubles in future not having his BFF around while continuing to adapt to NA

Will need Anisimov and Hawks management to make sure he gets all the help he needs off ice while he continues to adjust

Exactly. Of course it isn't easy but assuming Tiko gets a chance to play in the NHL he will be a happy man, which will make Panarin happy. No player likes to watch from the press box.

Tiko's presence helped Panarin's transition and now it's time for him to look out for # 1.

He signed here before Tik did. While I am sure he is disappointed he knows this is a business. The Hawks did his buddy a solid and gave him a chance to play elsewhere. You have no way to guarantee that it hurts or helps the situation. Again these players are adults and understand the business.

Panarin's family wanted him to stay because it was the safer move. Now that he has proven himself here the risk is gone. You add that to the big new deal he will sign and I sure they will be happy.

With AA and the Hawks organization I am sure he will be fine. While he does not speak english well I am sure the players will make sure he is fine. He also has that Russian family that he spends time with to help.

Thought he played better than many in the bottom six on hawks. Sad to see him go.

Artem Anisimov, yes. They got him in the Saad trade.

Apart from Panarin's mind-meld thing going with Kane, it's probably the main reason Panarin didn't do very well with Toews on the top line - because he literally had no idea what Toews was telling him.

I'll miss the interviews of Panarin with Tikhonov's translation, though. Anisimov speaks English well, but Tikhonov is completely bilingual and a good translator to boot - and it's a whole other level.
