It’s been a weekend for unheralded players netting their first NHL goals. On Saturday, it was the Arizona Coyotes‘ Justin Hodgman, and on Sunday night it was Washington Capitals‘ free agent signee Liam O’Brien who lit an NHL lamp for the first time in a 4-2 loss to the Vancouver Canucks.

It took O’Brien eight games to net his first goal, with that marker coming off of a nifty deflection of a shot by Capitals’ defensemaan, Mike Green.… read more
