The Windsor Spitfires have been on a roll of late, putting up a 9-1-0-0 record in their last 10 games. The hot streak has gotten the club into the thick of the Western Conference race, although they are still nine points behind the conference-leading Erie Otters.
One Spitfires' player that has stepped up his game this season is defenseman Slater Koekkoek. The Tampa Bay Lightning prospect came over to the Spitfires from the Peterborough Petes in a deal made back in January of this year.
Koekkoek is making the most of the change of scenery this season, as he finds himself as the top point-producing defender on the Spitfires' roster, along with sitting among the top five offensive defensemen in the OHL.… read more
