After dropping an opening-day overtime loss to Finland at the 2013 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament, the USA bounced back on Day 2 to take a 4-2 victory over Russia. One of the scoring stars in that game for Team USA was forward Nick Schmaltz, who netted a goal and chipped in two assists for a three-point game.
Schmaltz, who is eligible for the 2014 NHL Draft, is coming off of a productive first full season in the USHL that was spent playing for the Green Bay Gamblers. In 64 games for that team, the Verona, WI native scored 18 goals and added 34 assists for 52 points.… read more
