Team USA has advanced to the semi-final round of the 2013 Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament after defeating Slovakia, 5-2. But a 4-2 victory on Day 2 over Russia was the win that got the USA going in the right direction at this tournament.
Although his name did not appear among the scorers in the game vs. Russia, defenseman Aaron Haydon managed to log four minutes in penalties in a game that featured some chippy play from the two rivals.
Haydon's normal gig is to patrol the blueline for the Niagara IceDogs of the OHL. In the 2012-13 season, Haydon's first in the OHL, the Plymouth, MI native scored four goals and added six assists for 10 points in 42 games.… read more
