They have comparable stats and no hardware behind them.
One was strong, other is one of the fastest skaters.
One had one great playoff run, other is beast on international ice...

Švehla played 655 career NHL games, scoring 68 goals and 267 assists for 335 points. His best offensive season was the 1995–96 season when he registered career highs in assists (49) and points (57).
Švehla was also strong defensively and was a willing bodychecker. He led the NHL in hits on multiple occasions during his time in Florida. Despite this, Švehla was a durable player missing only 6 games during his final 8 seasons in the NHL.

Definitely Svehla. Visnovsky's offensive edge, according to stats, is pretty minor, and Svehla has a large edge in all other areas.

In the all-time drafts, Svehla is often drafted to be a #6-7 defenseman in the main draft, and Visnovsky is AAA-draft material (the minors of the minors)

If as a GM I wanted a pure offensive defenseman on the PP I'd probably choose Visnovsky. For anything else, Svehla.

Vis is a damn good offensive defenseman. But in how I prefer my teams to be built I'd definitely take Svehla. He was very good offensively and while not likely as good offensively or as fast as Visnovsky, he was better in all other areas of the game. An absolute rock in his own end and a big reason that 96 Panthers team got as far as it did.
