A lot of guys end up looking so much better on that team. He’s been very solid, you can do a lot worse than a 6 digit extension for Hutton.

Smart move by both the Knights and Hutton. With Martinez likely gone and Theodore only with the one season left, plus the 3 kids who are knocking on the door, there’s going to be some changes. Having Hutton around if those changes don’t go their way, is just a solid move.

For him, guarantees 2 more years of NHL pay.

Vegas is the perfect landing spot for Hanifin btw…. They’d be absolutely loaded this playoff, and then he’d replace Martinez next season, guaranteeing them 2 playoffs with Pietrangelo, Theodore and himself

Then Vegas can make their decision on keeping Theodore or not. It’ll keep that window fresh. If Pietrangelo hangs em up, they’ll just resign Theodore, and Hague should be a beast by then too.

Vegas isn’t going anywhere. The cap going up, with Martinez leaving, does set the stage for a key addition on the blue line. They’ll 100% be in on Hanifin.

glad hutton has found a home. he's an almost perfect depth guy with size, mobility and a pretty complete skill set. his problem is that he can't handle top 4 minutes more than occasionally but he looks like he can and coaches kept trying it. vegas coaches seem to understand his limitations.
