Oilers are not protecting Tyler Pitick. They'll protect either Khaira or Letestu.

Sometimes players don't have the best seasons but they rebound. Hickey would be a solid pick. He's not too young or too old (I think he's 28) and is an overall solid defensman.

I still think De Haan is a better choice then Hickey. All that being said if I am Vegas I might take the gamble with Pulock, who although is unproven in the NHL other then a handful of games could end up being the best of the 3. All that being said I think the Islanders might offer Strome or Nelson(or maybe even Dal Colle+?) as a sacrificial lamb to try protect their defensemen, but if Vegas truly wanted Hickey that would be the best possible option

This theory is highly unlikely.

It's SO highly unlikely that you're going it's going to happen in the next few weeks.

Dahlbeck is an RFA, all Carolina has to do is qualify him and it's virtually a done deal.

Also, both of these players are marginal NHL'ers who would actually be quite lucky to find a full-time role on an expansion team. Or, Vegas takes a Canes forward and they just stay here without having really earned that roster spot. That's a sweet deal for a tweener who would otherwise be searching hard to find a one-way deal.

But I dunno, maybe you're just the smartest guy in the room here and Carolina is going to expose Faulk in the expansion draft because reasons.
