Subes is a good young D-man, don't get me wrong, but I think he get's overhyped a bit for being the brother of PK and Malcolm. I go with Brisebois.

Going with Grenier here, who I think is a dark horse to make the squad on the bottom 6 this year, and make a difference.

Or he could just be the next Darren Archibald. We'll see.

Pedan not getting enough love. Assuming his melon is no longer filled with porridge I think he should starting getting more votes.

Pedan for me
Really started to show what he can do, before the concussion
Still has pretty good potential if he can remain healthy for an extended period of time

Been voting for Grenier for a while now..

And Nuckles, what you got against Cannata? No one suggested to add Gaudette this time. Cannata is currently our #1 goalie in Utica and his numbers last year were excellent. Third time I suggest you add him.

We had this big discussion a few polls ago about who is and who isn't a prospect according to HF, and Cannata fell into that "not a prospect anymore" category because of his age.

I haven't seen Brisebois play, so I'm basically valuing him as a third round pick. I feel Pedan has roughly the same value, but is further along in his development. He was looking good just prior to the latest concussion, so I went with him here.

11. Clendening
12. Pedan
13. Grenier
14. Brisebois
15. Subban

next year we're probably going to be like "Why didn't we put Subban fourth?"

It's not that Subban is that great but this is the 12th best prospect on a team with not alot of great prospect depth after their first 4 or 5 guys, sadly.

I'm really hoping a guy like Dmitri Zhukenov does a Cassels next year and I have a hunch on him but I also have a hunch on Subban, despite his size and defensive problems.

I probably have Subban about 6th/7th balancing long-term vs short-term results (or likelihood to make it v ceiling).

I have Demko a bit higher than I'm comfortable with (bloody goalies), but who knows. When this is done I might start a "list your top 10 prospects" thread. Those are always good for a laugh a few years later.

Pedan I had ranked higher than Hutton, Subban or Brisbois.

Not sure why Hutton is ahead of Pedan and why Brisbois is kicking so much but in this poll. I guess I haven't seen nearly enough of this kid.

Don't worry -- no one in this thread has seen anything of him but Youtube highlights, and probably only in the day or two following the draft.

Pedan has far too much risk in my opinion to be rated higher than someone like Subban or Hutton. Pedan only played 50 games last year and 33 the year before, with a handful of those in the ECHL. By the reports from the Uticans it sounded like he turned a corner after a dozen or so games on the Comets but pretty much right after he got concussed again. He's missed far too many games over the past two years to not be considered anything other than a high-risk prospect in my mind. If he can overcome his injuries and retain his physical presence then he may turn into something but at this point I take the offense and powerplay potential of Subban over the physicality of Pedan.

Probably going to be either something like this, wondering why Subban was so low...or on the other end of things, wondering why he was so high.

Big jump moving to the AHL this year, likely to be very revealing about his ability to handle grown men defensively and the physicality and systems play of the "Pro game".

Will be interesting to see if he can hack it. Kind of a crossroads in his career though, making that jump - could see it swinging his "ranking" one way or the other pretty sharply, depending on how that first pro season goes. As tends to happen with a lot of prospects - seems particularly pertinent with Subban and the specific nature of "concerns" around him.
