Before you get all mad, hear me out...

Vancouver needs a better defender than Quinn Hughes to actually play defense.

So a blockbuster between Colorado and Vancouver

Colorado gives up: Jost, Zadorov, and Ryan Graves (leads plus/minus by A LOT), and an unconditional 1st.

Vancouver gives: Quinton Hughes.

Colorado gets the 3rd best rookie in the league, but gives up a TON in two top 4 defenders and Tyson Jost who is logjammed on the Avs (he's only 21 and isn't fitting in because Kadri blocks him, and he's just not suited for 3rd line duty).

Zadorov and Graves provide defensive presence, allowing Makar and Girard to do their thing; you acknowledge that in that it's why you target them, and yet you must think Colorado is too stupid to understand that and would throw that away(and more!) to have another Makar buried behind Makar.

Meanwhile Tyson Jost isn't blocked by Kadri; the whole reason Kadri was acquired was because Jost hasn't done a damn thing and is barely holding a roster spot at all, let alone being held back for a top 6 spot.

Good god no! Hughes is a year younger than Makar and has similar upside to him and value to the Canucks.
We’d offer you a similar package for Makar though to help you fulfill your dream of uniting them.

He’s not as good as Makar offensively or even defensively (unless you look at insanely flawed metrics that just cherry pick) and he just isn’t as impactful as Samsonov.
Lol. He’s a year younger and almost as good already and he’s better defensively. You’ve come up with a one sided proposal to try to fleece the other team. We will offer you a similar package for Makar.

How do you measure that he's not as impactful as Samsonov? Hughes changed the outlook of this team especially in the powerplay, and gave us many options. Also, Hughes is logging a lot more minutes and is excelling.

You clearly haven't watch much of Hughes that is obvious. It's convenient you bring up "cherry pick" as a way to dismiss any argument toward Hughes.

Hughes has similar and debateably higher upside than Makar.

Your proposal is trash for the Canucks. We're not paying quality for quantity.

Honestly my favorite part of this thread has been how the OP bashed the Evolving Wild model but cites +/- for Graves.

There is three players on the Avs he’s available for. If none of them are included, were not interested.
