What value can he bring to the Rangers if his contract demands are not able to be met?

I saw some proposals from other teams threads that were a little surprising. The league is higher on him than I originally thought. Do you think it's possible he could fetch the Rangers a return that could help us in the present and future?

I figured he was worth a top 6 center, a prospect, and some picks.

it better more than Backes. Backes better be the throw in. Stepan scored 0.81 ppg. Who else did last season? Jonathan Toews, Anze Koptar, Logan Couture, Corey Perry. I'm not delusional to think we could get a package close to what any of those players would get but Stepan is a top player deserving of top end return so pray to God we don't need to give him top end $$$. He hasn't had the cup impact 3 out of 4 of those players have had. Sign for less D-Step!
