What happened to Danny Granger? He was a solid 20 ppg player for years and now he's signing for $2 million a year...was it injuries or has he just passed his prime?

The @Raptors have waived guard Julyan Stone. #RTZ

So how much cap space do we have now ?

None. We are over the cap.

Unless Masai manages to deal Hayes and/or Fields, he can only use the MLE.

Wrong. We are over the soft cap, but are still below luxury tax and have more than the MLE

Wrong. The luxury tax threshold for signing one's own free agents. If you want to acquire a new player, then only certain exceptions can be used (i.e. the MLE).

I guess, but he doesn't really looked to have a lost a step or regressed with his shooting, as bizarro as it looks. Can Tucker play D?

D is Tucker's primary skill.

Marion hasn't faded a lot yet, but at 36 it's going to happen soon probably. That's why I'd rather go younger if possible.

You can only use exceptions when acquiring new players when you are over the cap, so the Raptors are indeed over the cap.

Oh well if Tucker is D specialist, it makes perfect sense. The Raptors have a bad track record with bringing in old guys at the tail end of their career anyway.

Do you guys think we are going to acquire someone? Since a few moves have been made as in waiving a couple of players, and someome leaving for Moscow?

Trade or FA? How many players do we have and how much do we have to obtain someone?

Thanks

I think GV will still re-sign here (~$5 million). I'm not sure what the MLE figure is, but I think it's around $5 million as well.

I would think Masai is targeting a SF with the MLE. Masai is reportedly interested in PJ Tucker. There are other names available too: Rashard Lewis, Al-Farouq Aminu, Matt Barnes, etc.

I personally think Vaz is the last piece for Toronto. I don't think they are going to get the player they want with the MLE but they may use a portion of it to bring in an insurance player or two.

Would rather have Marvin Williams or Aminu anyways, over Carter. Carter is way over the hill and not an impact player anymore. Also veteran presence. We got enough of that and our young guys aren't so young anymore and now have playoff experience. What exactly would he bring? He never was a good defender and ya he'll bring some scoring but I think Lou Williams can fill the bucket up pretty good for our second unit.
