We’re all addicted to things brother, just maybe not the same things. With any addiction…phone, social media scrolling, drugs, alcohol, porn, eating, hf board posting, literally anything…our brains have engrained pathways or patterns of behavior that we keep returning to in order to release dopamine or give us comfort…which is usually a replacement for some need in our life we are not receiving. So there usually is a “re-wiring” of sorts that needs to happen which is really just guru speak for engraining new patterns of behavior that are more positive instead of destructive. Hiking, biking, any exercise, painting, drawing, sports, any good hobby really, regular connection with family and friends…some mixture of these things need to be the things the brain starts to repeatedly turn to for that comfort or happiness instead of the self destructive stuff.
