This STAT is really a Bizarre one but after hearing it during a FLYERS broadcast and on looking up Box Scores among Players with 400+ Goals I bet not a lot of people would get this stat.

(1) What NHL Player has the LEAST amount of “EMPTY NET GOALS” among Players with 400+ Regular Season Career Goals!!!

Answer = “BRIAN PROPP” with Only (4) ENG Goals out of his “425 Career Goals”.

Wow, 425 goals and only 4 empty netters! Zach Hyman probably has 4 empty netters so far this year and he only has 8 total goals. Propp and Hull's ice time totals in the last minute of games must have been pretty low.

Well based on NHL's official statistics amongst the 400+ goal scorers club there are players who have even less ENG than Propp.

Maurice Richard - 544 career goals with ZERO empty-net goals.
Yvan Cournoyer - 428 career goals with ZERO empty-net goals.
Steve Shutt - 424 career goals with ZERO empty-net goals.
Rod Gilbert - 406 career goals with ZERO empty-net goals.

Joe Mullen - 502 career goals with only 2 empty-net goals.
Dave Taylor - 431 career goals with only 2 empty-net goals.
Ray Ferraro - 408 career goals with only 2 empty-net goals.

Dave Andreychuk - 640 career goals with only 3 empty-net goals.
Guy Lafleur - 560 career goals with only 3 empty-net goals.

Johnny Bucyk - 556 career goals with only 4 empty-net goals.
Brian Propp - 425 career goals with only 4 empty-net goals.

Between 1933/34 and 1950/51 there are altogether only 17 ENG recorded.

Maybe pulling the goalie wasn't the practice back then, though.

Yeah, it likely wasn't very commonplace practice back then yet. It wasn't until only in 1931 that it happened for the first time in NHL so it likely took some decades before all teams/coaches started using it as a tactic. That should explain the low number of ENG in 1930's and 1940's.

Art Ross was the first coach to pull a goalie for an extra attacker:

On March 26, 1931, Ross substituted a sixth skater for goaltender Tiny Thompson in the final minute of play in a playoff game against the Montreal Canadiens. Although the Bruins lost the game 1–0, Ross became the first coach to replace his goaltender with an extra attacker, a tactic which became widespread practice in Hockey.

What was Al Iafrate's answer for these?

I was just thinking about Al Iafrate, probably for the same reason as you.

Is it true that Iafrate actually dumped the puck in the corner with an empty net? Did he ever score an ENG?

Can anybody confirm Jarome Iginla's empty net goals?

HFBoards used to have this thing with Iginla getting crazy amounts of empty net goals.
I've never found out if posters actually had a point.
