The Ultimate Hockey League has two GM openings!
We are a STHS-based 28 team league, use the 2.1 engine (said to be the best) and our own real life performance based ratings. Founded in 1997 we may be one of the oldest sim based leagues around!
What we offer:
  • friendly, international community with GMs from Canada, the US and Europe.
  • full minor league, AHLers but also lots of real players from European leagues, for those interested
  • ruleset similar to the NHL’s
  • one gameday per day, one season per year. We are slow paced, so it’s perfect for those with bigger work/family commitments
  • a long history and loads of historic statistical data
  • this is a long termed league, it’s has been around for 23 years, and we are dedicated to keep it running for decades! This league will not fold just before you finish your painful rebuild!
What we expect:
  • we are slow paced, but a certain level of commitment is required. You will have time to send in signings, prepare draft lists etc. but we expect things to be done!
  • a certain responsiveness to your fellow GMs’ messages regarding trades etc.
  • willingness to commit to your new team and the league *long term* (some of the open teams will need 3-4 years of rebuilding)
We are just about to start out 39th season (based on 2019-20 ratings). Check out our beautiful homepage at www.ultimatehockeyleague.net!

If you are interested send an email to [email protected]. Would be nice to also learn something about you: age, location, previous fantasy hockey experience, which was the longest time you spent in a league?

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Send your application (a few words about yourself and some info about your fantasy league or real life hockey experience): [email protected]

Looking forward to hear from you!

I may be interested. Not really sure how the league works, but I've been looking for a deep keeper league.

I don't really understand what you're saying with this though "one gameday per day, one season per year"

The league is not points based as in "x points per goal and y points per assist" etc., but simulation based. Each player is rated in certain categories (Scoring, Passing, Defense, etc.). The next season will have ratings based on 2019-20 real life play. There are divisions and conferences and a schedule similar to the NHL. The games are simulated using a software. You set your roster and line combinations (ES, PP, PK etc.). There are "real" boxscores and stats, and in the end playoffs and a cup winner. We have a similar ruleset to the NHL's (free agency rules, draft eligibility, roster restrictions etc.).

"one gameday per day, one season per year" means that each day we will simulate a league day (with about 5 to 10 games, similar to the NHL), and a season takes about a year. I mentioned that because some leagues are faster paced and sim two days per real life day and play two full seasons in a calendar year.

If you are looking for a deep keeper league, this may be exactly the right thing for you. Any questions, don't hesitate to ask!

So it's kind of like an online version of Eastside Hockey Manager/Franchise Hockey Manager? It does sound pretty neat..
