Two Victoriaville Tigres players will be formally charged on Tuesday with sexual assault on a minor and having filmed the victim.

Nitpicking, just so everyone understands : They were arrested back in June, not accused. They were charged today.

I don't understand how the Q and the Tigres allowed them to play some regular season games.

Yes, but they were officially charged today. I doubt they ever play again as the police recovered the video

None of this surprises me, and I imagine there could be a flood of similar accusations stemming back for years based on the (absurdly stupid) "tradition" of hazing.

Seems this was part of the President's Cup celebration. Per RDS, while the team was hosting a celebration at a hotel the girl (a minor) expected to meet up with one player in his hotel room and instead arrived to find both of them there.

Daigle and Siciliano will have their day in court, but they better have one hell of a set of receipts to disprove the obvious conclusions one could draw from this, considering police found enough evidence in the film to warrant criminal charges.

If the deed is in fact on film, which all indications is that it was and was found by authorities, it is statutory rape and child pornography at least.

Making and distributing CP is not something you can escape from with the law, regardless if she consented as a 16 year old girl. Why two 19 year old dudes are fooling around with a 16 year old in the first place is f***ing beyond me. It's gross. They should both be thrown in a jail cell regardless.

What was on the film? Since you seem to have access to this info that we don't.

Not to diminish the seriousness of those charges, but the heart of the story here is about whether it was consensual or not. If they were to show it was consensual (and presumably the police have good reason to think otherwise based on the video) that would make the other charges seem like technicalities by comparison. I don't think the court has all that much interest in whether three teenagers film a consensual act.

Daigle of course would still have to face the music for sharing the images.

What was on the film? Since you seem to have access to this info that we don't.

Victim was 17. Daigle is accused of sharing intimate material of the victim without her consent. It doesn't really matter what's on it. It is a crime in itself.

The only part that matters here is the consensual then. They aren't going to get extra harsh sentences because of anything to do with the victim being a minor when they are all basically the same age.
