They're not laughing about abuse, but the in joke is that the actor, Tommy Wiseau, is so bad, that films he's in reach cult status just for how bad he is. Imagine Sylvestre Stallone with less IQ and just yelling "Adrien"

They must have attended the same acting school. Its uncanny.
