Haven't seen a thread about this. Not really sure what I think of this, on one hand great another tornado movie, on the other hand no Bill or Dusty. Kind of interested to see more about the setting for the movie. Twisters seems to suggest more than one.

Personally I'd draw from from the Pilger, NE Twins of 2014 but approaching a major metropolitan area, ie Dallas or OKC

Not to get morbid, but it does kind of write itself if it's Bill and Jo's daughter. Tornado kills her father, she gets obsessed with them, etc.

This seems, I dunno, a little tacky. Paxton has been dead only 5 years and they're now thinking of making a sequel to this 26-year-old movie that was one of his few star turns? I'm guessing that they were encouraged by the reception to Ghostbusters: Afterlife, which everyone praised for how it honored the late Harold Ramis. That was fine, but at what point does it become exploitation? I don't want this to become a trend whereby Hollywood jumps at the chance to make sequels when actors die under the guise of honor and memorial when it's just as much (if not more) wanting to make a buck off of their deaths.

I think I have come up with an even better premise, Bill Jo are killed by the twisters... the death scene being Helens Hunts emotional cameo. The tornadoes then raise Bill and Jo's daughter, until her daughter learns the truth.

That reminds me of how, in the 80s, my friends and I got a kick out of rumors that Jaws featured the daddy, Jaws 2 the mommy and Jaws: The Revenge their son. It was probably made up, but I still like the idea, and it works to explain why there weren't more sequels. :laugh:

That doesn't look good or worthwhile, IMO. It just looks like a re-hash. With a $200M budget, no star power and Deadpool & Wolverine opening a week later, it's going to flop, I suspect.
