They went to the playoffs last year too and had a good run to get in. Disappointed that he was not retained.

wasn't he manager under the previous GM? So they probably gave him another look after making the playoffs last year only to fail making it in one of the worst divisions in recent memory this year so the new GM can hire his own guy. the 3 year extension looks puzzling now though

not too surprising

they were supposed to be a lot better than they were this season after their surprise WC run last year. apparently i read the twins plan to keep him on in another capacity

Didnt he win manager of the year last season? Thought I'd heard that.

Yeah, well , you’ll have to forgive me if I don’t put a ton of stock into that award.

The twins also had a terrible season this year and he just got canned. So which is it? Why was he such s good manager last year and an awful won this year?
