Truculence and pugnacity vs "character". Burke's legacy vs Bergevin's tank mode. Any difference?

Well, Burke's work with the Leafs is history, not a good one. Now, Bergevin's obsession with "sandpaper" players that he characterizes as "character" vs skills seems to be the same to me. Am I wrong?

Well, truculence and pugnacity got him a Cup, but once the league figured out how to beat his teams it didn't work the rest of the way. Hell, that same attitude still hangs over the Ducks even today.
