So here's a trivia question that probably could stump even Schwab, who was he?

With the spotlight on Drury and Glavine having to choose between hockey and baseball careers, I don't think it is well known that there was one, and only one, athlete who played both in the NHL and in major league baseball. So here's a trivia question that probably could stump even Schwab, who was he?

John Kiley played for the Bruins and the Red Sox-(the organ)

Jim Riley played with the NHL's Chicago Blackhawks and Detroit Cougars in 1926-27.

He also played MLB with Washington Senators and St. Louis Browns.

During World War 1, he was drafted by the Canadian military. Having lived in the US full time for two years, he had no current Canadian address and merely wrote "Arena Rink" on his military ID form.

Jim Riley is the correct answer. That was fast.

He also won a Stanley Cup with the Seattle Mets in 1917.

Riley is from New Brunswick, a small province that hasn't produced a large number of NHLers, but there is another one with an unique accomplishment That's Willie O'Ree who broke the color barrier.
