Tribal Phoenix 2010 All Star Mock Draft

NHL_-_2010_Draft_LA.JPG

DRAFTING

1. There is a 12 hour time limit. You miss your turn, you miss your pick and will be decided by as a consensus pick. For any picks between 12am EDT and 8am EDT, an additional 2 hours will be provided commencing at 8am (i.e. If your 12 hours ends at 3am EDT, your selection must be made by 10am EDT the following morning). People have to get to sleep for work/school/whatever, real life comes first and that shouldn't be punished.

2. If you know you will not be around for your pick send me a proxy and I'll draft your guy for you. (Make it a lengthly proxy according to as how long your pick is away.)

3. Draft order has been established as of April 30th, 2010 at 3pm. The order was utilized using those teams that have been eliminated from the playoffs, in combination with the season standings of the remaining 8 teams still playing. They are not debatable, and I have triple checked the draft order for accuracy of draft selections. If there are questions, let me know via PM as we want to keep the thread clean.

4. You MUST PM the guy drafting after you, because when im not online, no one will know when to pick. And if any of you GM's are looming around here you could drop the next poster a line. Failure to post confirmation that the next GM has been notified is a main reason drafts die out and ruin the experience, so there is no excuse this should happen. Failure to post notification 2 picks in succession will result in forfeiting the right to make the remainder of your picks as they will be chosen by consensus.

Since it's technically Monday...

First of all, we'd like to congratulate the San Jose Sharks on their Stanley Cup victory, and we'd like to thank Los Angeles for welcoming us into their great city.

And now to the drafting. With the 1st overall selection in the 2010 NHL entry draft, the Edmonton Oilers are very proud to select...

From the Windsor Spitfires,

Taylor Hall

"We had a very tough choice to make, but we feel we made the right choice. To us, Taylor was the best player available, and despite Tyler Seguin being a great player also, we think that Taylor will fit best into our organization."

Boston Bruins GM has been notified.

The Florida Panthers select defenseman Cam Fowler, from the Windsor Spitfires of the OHL. We anticipate Fowler possibly playing in the NHL next year, after evaluating him at training camp.

Chicago GM interview with TSN'.

James: Why did you use the 6 th overall pick to select Erik?

King Canuck:Erik was the best defenceman in the draft this year, so were surprised he feel so far.

James:Will Erik have a chance to make the Hawks this year?

King Canuck:It's up to him, if he shows he can play consistently at the NHL level he will stick with the Big Club, if not he'll be sent back to Kingston.

Next GM to be PM'D

With the 8th overall pick, the Atlanta Thrashers are proud to select, from the Prince George Cougars, Right-winger, Brett Connolly.

connolly.jpg

"We are very surprised Brett fell to #8. We believe he's the 4th best player in the draft, so to get him at #8 is great value for us. We believe he could step into the NHL as soon as this year, but with his lost year of development due to injuries he'll probably go back to the WHL."

Next GM notified.

The Thrashers and Ducks completed a trade, and Atlanta now owns this pick.

With the 12th overall pick, the Atlanta Thrashers are proud to select, from the Portland Winter Hawks, Center, Ryan Johansen.

ryan-johansenjpg-5905878b3967f586.jpg

"We would have been comfortable picking Johansen at #8, and when we saw he was still on the board at #12 we had to move up in the draft and select him. We believe he's going to be a #1 center in NHL for a very long time. We think his upside is Jason Spezza."

:coyotes are proud to select, from the Medicine Hat Tigers, Emerson Etem

We feel that Emerson has the potential to be an excellent power forward in this league, we feel he has the potential to become a top 6 forward for this club, we compare him to Andrew Ladd from the Chicago Blackhawks.

We are very proud to have him on the Coyotes.

If no one takes them just auto select the highest ranked prospect from one of the scouting sites. NHL young guns is a good one.
