Hi all,

I'm going to be in Moscow for work in early December and wanted to go to a KHL game… but I'm not sure how to even look up how to get tickets/find out where the arena is/etc. We will be staying near the Red Square.

We have a point person but I haven't been able to get in touch with them yet, plus figure it can't hurt to do a little legwork myself.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Spesibo :)

I can't give any advice, but you should be okay as there are so many KHL teams in Moscow. :S

Btw, that should be an a instead of an e in the thanks word. Not sure if the o at the end makes an a sound, I think it does.

There is your December schedule. Most important difference to NA! It's home team first! So CSKA-Lokomotiv on 2nd December means the game is at CSKA in Moscow.

There are 3 teams in Moscow. CSKA, Dynamo, Spartak and 2 teams very close Vityaz in Podolsk and Atlant in Mytischi. Both Podolsk and Mytischi are basically Moscow suburbs. There shouldn't be a problem to find a game.

Most prominent looking games are on 5th December Dynamo Moscow vs. AkBars Kazan(best in the West against best in the East) and on 6th December CSKA Moscow vs. SKA St.Petersburg(Morozov and Radulov vs. Kovalchuk). I'm planning to be in Moscow around that time and will probably then try to go there myself.

Buying tickets online is still a pain. On the other hand Moscow is fighting(or not) for attendance. There should be no problem puchasing tickets at game day. Unless maybe for those 2 games.

Also going to Moscow teams you have an opportunity to see the old soviet barns. Small and old, but there is a lot of history to those buildings. The 1972 Superseries games for example were played at "Luzhniki", Dynamo's home arena.

It shows the football stadium, but the MSA "Luzhniki" the hockey arena is the smaller building right nearby.

That's CSKA's arena.

and the Spartak one.

One more thing. If you want to get somewhere in time in Moscow you use the Subway aka. Metro. Traffic jams are epic.
