Pittsburgh would likely take that trade. Kessel plays no defense and is nuts. Entertaining in the room. Except for the coaches. Blabhill would be at a loss to handle Phil The Pill. And Kessel's contract and cap hit are way too big for the Wings.

You may want to look at Phil's goal scoring numbers on those terrible Toronto teams before you make the statement that Tatar is a better goal scorer ("maybe by a lot") than Kessel.

He fell off his last year in Toronto. These past 3 seasons show that Tatar is better way better was stretching it. But he is a way better defender there's not an argument to be made there.

Kessel has a long continuous games streak for a reason. Defense is not his game. Ever.
