The Tampa Bay Lighting are please to annouce they have acquired veteran defensmen Greg De Veirs. We believe Greg can come in and show our young defensive core what it takes to hang in at the NHL level.

While we are sad to see Gary Roberts go we feel we have enough veteran leadership up front to lead our fowards and felt we needed to adress our glaring need for help on the back end. The Lighting organisation would like to wish Gary to best of luck and also thanks the Nashville GM for a smooth transcation

Yeah, thanks guys! I'm very happy about this deal. I have another one with Tampa that should be announced soon.

My Panthers are shaping up nicely.

I've been busy tonight, heheh.

Amazingly, after both these deals, I still have over 5mil of cap space.

News Report

The Tampa Bay Lighting have reported call a press conference for 1:30am Est time. Our trade breakers believe the team asked Martin St Louis to waive his no trade clause earlier today, we believe that is what the press conference is for

We have yet to reach St Louis for a comment on the situation yet

The Panthers are proud to announce the acquisitions of all-stars Vincent Lecavalier from the Lightning, and Dany Heatley from the Senators.

We were required to give up roster players, draft picks, and prospects to acquire these players, but we feel we have enough depth to fill up the gaps.

We would like to thank the General Managers of the Lightning and the Senators for their cooperation.

PRESS RELEASE

The Tampa Bay Lighting Organisation would like to inform the memebers of the media and all other fellow GM's, star player and franchise player Vincent Lecavalier. Levavalier was moved earlier today to the Florida Panthers for Stephen Weiss, David Booth, Bryan Allen, Prospect Shawn Mathias and Columbus's 2nd round pick in the 2009 nhl entery Draft.

The Lighting organisation feels this deal will make them better in the long run. They acquired 2 young top six fowards, a solid and defensmen who will fit nicely into our top 4, a highly saught after prospect in Mathias and the 2nd.

Tampa is pleased with this deal as early in the mock draft their main goal was to "re-stock" with young players and and prospects and we feel this deal is a big step into accomplishing that.

While Vincent was our franchise player and we are sadened to see him go, we felt it trading him was our best option for being competive withing 2 years to keep our fan base in Tampa Bay happy. We Wish Vincent the best of luck with the Panthers. We would also like to thank Florida's gm was his cooparation and hardwork

In Other news the Lighting are believed to be looking to acquire some defensmen

Wow, FLAs GM is unreal wheeling and dealing for Vinny and Heatley. Question: Who's in your top 6? Vinny, Dany, Frolik, Zednik? Campbell? Dvorak? You better sign an FA or two.

I had a ton of spare guys from my earlier trade with toronto. I have my line-up posted in the roster thread. It's really still a very deep lineup considering all the guys I moved, and I still have Frolik and Bouwmeester, as well as over $5mil in cap space that should allow me to re-sign most of my players. :)

I guest I ll be taking the Pittsburgh Pinguin cause the GM just gave my St Louis cause is friend wanted it. I took them first so St Louis should be mine but no the dude wanted it. So I can t have St Louis so not fair. Like cmon, your friend wasn t there to take them first, then it should be first come first serve.

I m made about that. It sucks.

Have a great day everyone.

Yeah it was tough to see Cuma go but I thought we had enough of a good Defense. Koivu, while he had a great year I'm skeptical about. The only sad thing is seeing the 1st go away. Minnesota needs to start fresh because things aren't working out for them right now.

Anyone who wants to trade for Harding or Gaborik PM me.
