Proposal: Toronto offer to Carolina for Pesce

Can we all just stop the Carolina/Toronto trade talk? Let's just enjoy the Leafs heading towards the playoffs as a fantastic young team that's void of probably a young defender because our rebuild went twice as fast as anyone expected, and Carolina fans can enjoy another year of stock piling defense while trading two 30 goal scoring forwards and now trying to trade for a forward like it's going to put them anywhere close to a playoff position.

Leafs fans are clearly wanting to take advantage here, and rightfully so based on the clear negligence towards the Hurricanes team however just because their team is horribly organized that doesn't mean their fan base needs to constantly defend their only few assets.

It's ok Carolina, you'll be ok.

I know. It's not even like there is anything to discuss or anybody has anything new to add.

We all know where it stands. Toronto can't get Pesce except straight-up or nearly-straight-up for Nylander. Dubas won't do that deal.

Likewise, even if some Canes fans would do something around Kapanen or Kadri, Waddell's back-handed comments around the time of the middle of the Nylander holdout made it pretty clear that unless Dubas was willing to do Nylander for Pesce or for a package around Faulk, there was nothing to talk about, there were no other likely-available Leafs targets that interested him, and he wasn't even talking to Nylander's agent because there was no deal to be had.

Nothing has changed on the trade front. The Canes moved on to other targets. Nylander signed a long-term deal and received a promise he's not being moved.

Does anybody really have anything to add that isn't a rehash of a dead trade?

Pesce for Voracek

Close? Who adds? How much?

Voracek is too old for the Canes needs and core. Mismatch. No additions get this to work for Canes though this probably favors them.

A Pesce trade for the Canes would fit a narrow parameter: young, elite scoring F.
