What is Benoit doing there? Brodie would be forced to retire if he did that.
yeah if anyone looked like they were blowing the zone it was Benoit. and Knies ended up occupying the same space as him and they both end up covering the point instead of Pasta who is meant to be Benoit's check. Marner goes to his point like it seems it may have been drawn up, except I also
don't get Benoit's positioning on the faceoff there to start.

Down 1. Terrible end to the period. Boston will smell blood. Toronto better come out ready because ther will be an onslaught right off the hop.

Rudderless ship.

Bright side is we are down one. Win the next two periods.

Tavares played pretty well in that period but he can't win a f/o for the life of him tonight.

Marner was atrocious.

Overall a good period.
It's NOT a good period when you get scored on with 7.8 seconds left.

You can't expect a playoff win when you do that kind of nonsense !!!

There’s no way Tre and MLSE re-signs wonder boy Marner. It’s not the end of the world if we trade him. We need change and we need more thugs on this team.

Leafs gotta put Tavares on 3C. f*** his feelings. He f***ing sucks.

Matthews
Marner
Tavares

Keep them 3 serpate no other way with Willy injured and out.

Asking Robertson-Holmberg-Jarnkrok to produce is too much when Tavares-Marner are sucking ass out there

Maybe Benoit could actually cover his man rather than helping Knies double-team the left point man for some reason?

He could, but do we need our Selke elite unicorn cheating for offense instead of defending in O-zone draw with under 20s in the period ?

The Hammer
needed a big bong after that period end.

came back to hear the panel discussed the last goal - so I went back and listened.

the panel agreed on who blew the cover as well.

The only good news is the Leafs have been the better team 5 v 5 this game

Horrible PP/PK might cost the Leafs if they can't figure things out soon

Boston have basically made all their chances count so far game 1 and 2 but not dominanting the Leafs so that my bring some hope as well

SN just went through the goals.

That 2nd goal all stems for a scared player making a zombie-level-IQ play by Liljigren.

He was also a major factor in the 1st goal as neither him nor Kampf even try to clear the puck.
That's one take for sure

Wouldn't shock me if Marner went to another team and put of Conn Smythe worthy performance. Genuinely think it's just a mental thing with him. Him straight up crying in the penalty box against the Habs was enough evidence. The pressure gets to him.
If this play continues its in both parties best interest to move on

Even the Boston announcers talking about how the Leafs pk has been terrible for 3 years. Can't believe something so fixable is going to kill us again.

With 8 seconds or whatever left, just collapse to the slot, close all gaps and just get to the intermission. What are we talking about covering the point.

Come on Stephen, bruins have been doing point to point passes the entire series. They caught the leafs on a set play. But they have been passing point to point. You can’t just collapse when the bruins are literally lethal from the point off faceoffs
