I didn't know that and it's kind of surprising given my assumptions of Nordic countries' politics.

When I saw he passed less than 2 weeks after he was just on stage and at least had enough control to raise his arm and stand with assistance, I'll admit my first thought was assisted suicide. I guess every case of ALS is different and progresses at its own speed.

He likely had those two dates as goals for himself, something to live for. It happens a lot with people with illnesses like this. His goal was likely to make it to those events, get to let people say goodbye and once those events pass he just kind of lets go. There is nothing to fight towards anymore. I mean even at the Leaf games he was generally wheel chair bound at that point but he was determined that he was going to be out there standing up.
