4 year 17-19 about right

5 year - 23-24 million

Market has been set lower than expected with vat and jones. Can see him getting a little more and wouldn't outrage me but those are how I view his value. Good player, glad he is signed but there better be 1 if not 2 d coming In better than Krug or its gonna be a long year.

I really hope we are not giving Krug a penny more than 5 million.

Give me 4yr-18million max. After seeing Vatanen and Jones contracts, we'd be nuts to Krug 5 or more.

I don't think Krug''s a 2nd pairing guy though. Really good, OFD, PP specialist #5

he has finish 21st to 36th in FIVE ON FIVE scoring over in each of the past three seasons, despite playing low minutes those first two seasons.

Not surprisingly, it was with past season he finished 21st with the additional top 4 playing time he got.

With a healthy shoulder, he is a top 20 offensive defenseman 5 on 5.

In his three years in Boston, the Bruins have given up LESS than 2 goals per 60 minutes of 5 on 5 action every year when Krug is on the ice.

No other Bruins d-man can make that claim.

4 years @ 5.25M per year is my guess. Not a huge fan of his defensive play - he is a power play specialist but I guess thats the going rate.

Between hitting this one on the head and forecasting the Buffalo/Vesey stuff I have to be in the running for the poster of the month.

Perfectly fine with this deal. Wish it was 250-500k cheaper, but he's not expendable. The term is good, as well. He's only 25. If he can continue playing like a top-4 dman, this deal is very fair. Obviously no discount but we couldn't lose him.

Right, he has 17 more points 5x5 the last 3 years than Kevin Shattenkirk does.

Krug only score 42.3% of his points on the PP, Shattenkirk scores 58% of his points on the power play.

Solid. Krug a good player just a tad overpaid but he is bruin, one of the few good young players we have. I love krug glad he is staying here for the long term.

Nice! I think this is very market rate for Krug. Kid is only 25 and is great on the PP. Just hope he can work on his shot this offseason.
