how does a guy with 1 goal in 56 games get 1.5 million for two years? this makes his Simmonds signing look good

It will be nice if the Leafs aren't trying to figure out how to defend against top lines.

Played 56 games for the Hawks this year.

Only 3 Hawks forwards played 56, Kane, Kubalik and Kampf. Oh k...

Played the most SH TOI/g for forwards.

He might be the solution to the "Leafs have the lead with less than 2 minutes to go who can they trust out there besides empty-net specialist Hyman?"

He looks like a legitimate full time NHL player who knows how to do his job.

I was only being kind.

And we Leafs fans always see light at the end of the tunnel, it's just a fricken long tunnel.

"I haven't heard of this guy, so he must be bad"
"He's a Dubas signing, he must be bad"
"He's (Bunting) a 26 year old who played for the Soo! Typical stoopid glasses boy"

I get some signings have left many in the guilty until proven innocent camp with Dubas, but it is cute when some feel they are smarter than Dubas just because they don't and never have liked him as GM.

It was 1 game, rub it in after they have a great playoff run and ill accept it
He also had a really good regular season. He is a leader on a vastly improved PK, he centres a very effective 3rd line, he is strong on FO, he carries the load with d-zone starts allowing AM and JT to take the o-zones, he is durable and low maintenance, signed to a very reasonable two-year deal...oh yeah he got 11 regular season goals with no PP time.

You really need to see more to acknowledge this might have been a good signing?

Not worth 1.5 mill, and we don't have the cap nor the need.

We added Semyonov. He brings similar kind of value at half the cost.

There will almost certainly be a couple of guys getting moved out at this point. Engvall almost certainly has no purpose anymore.
Wow this is a hot take

Good thing he has proved them all wrong

Let’s win the round first. Jesus are we gonna keep doing the same patting on the back we do every year.

Are people forgetting we were up 3-1 vs Montreal?

Kampf has played well so far I admit. But two wins doesn’t win us a series.

The thing I said is I didn't like a line of Mikheyev - Kampf - Engvall and I still dont, just because they got a couple of empty net goals as a line doesn't mean there a good line. Theres a reason they haven't been a line all year. Where in any of my posts did I say Kampf sucked? All 3 separated worked, together I still don't think they make a good line.

Its 1 game and of course that guy Zeke would bring it up cause he lives on here and wants to blow Dubas and hail him king before we actually win anything. I don't wanna be right, I'd rather win but its been 3 games and we don't have the greatest history closing out series'

As I said in my original post "come playoff time". The regular season doesn't matter and they haven't really been a line for awhile minus 6 on 5 last game, meaning Keefe thought the same thing as I did. There better separated and sure I could be wrong but as I said like 3 times already, its 1 great playoff game they played after practically 2 post seasons of playing like crap.

And again as I said, I don't care if I'm wrong, I want to win, but you don't win anything 3 games into a series. Lets just hope they play like that the rest of the series.
