Georgiev was undrafted so the rest of the league didn't think he was very good. All those scouts might have been wrong though. Don't need Lemieux. Not sure what Georgiev alone would be worth.

extremely unbalanced deal, it seems, favoring Leafs

besides, some NYR context:
(a) Lemieux likely not available, Quinn wants more north-south guys, not less,
(b) NYR doesnt NEED to move Georgiev, shouldn't until someone pays a premium,
yeah most goalie trades do not bring back lots,
but to me, in this case, Schnieder<>10 OA (Horvat) remains point of reference,

if TML packages Kap, along with one of those young Swedish D 1st rounders,
that might get Gorton's attention, but i get impression they are not available

the 2 recently-drafted Russian forwards, playing in O and Q, are both earning notice, could flesh out a package,
but if HockeyDB height/weights are accurate, both are quite small and light...

as NYR fan, my preference is find a way to keep both Georgie and Czar into '21-22 and beyond (Hank's deal expires in '21)

What are the rangers needs? I don't know.
My guess is Hutch isn't among them. Maybe for their leagues below AHL...

The Rangers need center prospects and picks. The only reason Georgiev might be available is because they would be clearing a spot for Shestyorkin — so, Hutch would not be a need or want.

I totally get that. And 100% agree.

Posters putting Sandin and Liljegren into proposals are nuts.
They make up basically the only worthwhile prospects the leafs have in an already thin blueline next season.

Leafs are not trading Sandin or Liljegren. Probably not ever.
Who do we have in the the system besides them with any upside? Bracco? (lol), Robertson? Maybe.
We have also traded several picks including this years first. (presumably).

Leafs are not in any position to really trade with anyone. We can't take on a hamburger's worth of salary cap, and the players on our team taking up that salary cap aren't going anywhere. Unless your name is Ceci, which, literaly no one wants, literally 0% need.

Fans and posters just need to give up even proposing anything for the leafs, pretty well none of it makes sense.

NYR has a few hot young goalies, but they also have zero need to trade either one of them.
Leafs got themselves into this mess by letting McBackup walk and treating the cap space we did have like your first bank account grandma opened for you.

We have a window and it's not even really a window now, it's basically a door.

Georgiev to the Leafs makes sense.

But Lemieux was a key part of the Hayes trade was he not? I doubt the Rangers flip a guy like him so quickly.

I think the Leafs could just give the Rangers what it would take for Georgiev along with one of Kask/Hutch to play with Huska in the A.

Goalie value is always wonky though so it could be anywhere from a couple mid round picks to a 2nd and a decent roster player.

He's in a weird spot where his current value to the team is worth more than his trade value, but the Rangers also have one of the best young goalies in the game tearing up the AHL right now as well.

How about we ask the Ranger fans exactly what they would want for Georgiev.

Please don't pull a bernmeister and say Nylander though.

If I'm NYR I hold onto him until you really know what you have.
If Lunqvist is done, and you trade Georgiev, then your prospects don't pan out, you go from surplus to begging people for a goalie REAL quick.

I wouldn’t trade either Georgiev or Lemieux for Kap straight up

STOP!!

Please just stop all the Georgie to Leafs threads.

Every one of the has Kapanen and Hutchison going to Rangers.

Nearly every Leafs trade offer in these threads are 2 of Kapanen, Hutchison, Bracco or Johnson.

RIGHT?
I'm a leaf fan and I can't stand it.
Kapanen I get it, we probably could trade him for something.
But no one wants Ceci, Hutch, Bracco, or Johnson for the kind of trades people on these boards think we're going to get.

And people either are dumb leaf fans making proposals
Or trolls of leaf fans making dumb proposals.
Take your pick.

A 1st round pick or equivalent in picks/prospects. We don't need spare parts, so don't offer five players like Bracco/Tymashov/Engvall/Gauthier and players of that ilk.

I think Kapanen + Liljegren/Sandin is a crazy ask, and Schneider is a very selective point of reference. What about Andersen? Jones? Lehner?

There's pretty solid precedent for mid/late 1st straight up, late 1st + small add. Kapanen + young swedish 1st round D is like 2x that or more.

A 1st round pick or equivalent in picks/prospects.

Not in young cost controlled players?
