There has been speculation that Andersen is done for the season with his injury. If that was the case, and with this move, if they put Fred on LTIR, they'd have over 7M in cap space they could use at the TDL. And then Freddy and nash would come back for the playoffs where there is no cap.

The deadline is a few days away. Trades do not need to occur in the order of how much value was exchanged per deal. But you already knew that. Along with everyone else in this thread that made the same joke before you did.

Thats a really smart trade. Even if Nash doesnt recover, you're only out a 7th... if he does, you get a player at 0 caphit who can really hold the fort on a fourth line and you're only out a 6th. Great low-risk, high-reward maneuver by Dubas.

How did you get moving Kerfoot from this trade?

They're bringing in another C for the playoffs in addition to Thornton & Spezza. Nash has played 3C at times and when he was good, brought more or less the same as Kerfoot.
