I like the deal. It’s a good housekeeping swap and Columbus has developed a lot of quality goalie athletes in the past few years. We certainly weren’t giving Lehtonen a chance and we recover an asset.

Caveat here is even if Lehtonen becomes Kimmo Timonen we weren’t going to find out before we lost him.

I’m not particularly a fan of this. Lehtonen was good insurance in case we have an injury on defence. Next man up for LD is Marincin now then? Because Sandin is injured so he won’t be playing any time soon.

If Lehtonen requested a trade then fine I suppose but it’s still disappointing.

Seems like it had to be done with Keefe not willing to trust Lehtonen at all. They couldn't just sit him out forever. I wish they would have given him a real chance though
