As long as they help move the bar up from first round and the boot it should be good. Happens again and it will be uproar.It’s not that I think Nylander, Marner or Matthews were massive overpayments. It’s when you add all three together and the short term of Matthews deal that cause the issue. At the time I believed Nylander’s deal was 250-500K too much. Add another 750-1 million for Marner and the fact that Matthews was only 5 years (I think for a 5 year deal it should have been around 11 per) .... and we are talking close to 2 million in cap space. It’s not a huge amount but would have given us more wiggle room.
