Why aren't we?

Last time i checked you pick the BPA, if thats a D, then so be it

You trade WIN pick + Barron / Harris / our D surplus for a young player like Perfetti or someone like that
We aint drafting a D. How to you know which player is the BPA when you are drafting outside the top 5. They will go for a forward you will see

And that would be incredibly stupid.

If Demidov Macklin Lindstrom are gone at 5, this means one of Silayev Levshunov is there at 5. Both these guys have #1D/ All star D.written all over them. You draft them. And then you trade tour ither stuff for a forward.

Drafting Catton or Iginla wpuld be plain stupid.

been thinking if im yzerman ide attempt to speed up rebuild by trading 2024 15th and detroits 2025 1st to move up this draft for a high scoring forward

If two teams behind the Habs pass them in the lottery and there's a run on forwards I would say Montreal's 1st is definitely available.

They might look to trade down and then just take Greentree/Sennecke/someone else.

Would also be available for a young forward.
If Habs stay at 5, would you trade it for 11 and Farabee?
