Mikko Rantanen criminally underrated IMO

Considering the quality of the talent at this level, I wouldn't be too worried about it. Most of these players will go up and down depending on "what have you done for me lately".

Rants finished higher in the "asset value" poll so people recognize his long term potential.

Tavares has become super underrated ever since he put on a leaf jersey

47g/88pts last year 37g/84pts the year before. Even battling injury he had 26g/60pts in 63 games this year

thats 110g/232pts the last 3 seasons for those counting. the guy leading this poll has 13 less goals and 18 less points over the same time frame

18 of these players from the East.. not a shock at all.

Rantanen should’ve gone already.

The 'East coast bias' or whatever is the lamest victim card ever pulled.

Tavares also plays with other superstars. Aho has led his team in goals and points in each of the 3 latest seasons when Tavares has led his team in goals once and points 0 times in the same time frame. If you exclude the 17-18 season when Aho was still a 20-year old sophomore and only count the 2 latest seasons their ppg and gpg are very close. I think Aho is better by a hair. But you are right in that Tavares is a bit underrated these days.

Barkov at 15th and Couturier at 28th.

EDIT: S. Jones at 16th???? WHAT THE f***? :laugh::laugh:

Wait why is that surprising? Barkov is clearly the better player and both of those rankings seem in the right ballpark.

wait so 65pts but leading your team in points > 37g/84pts but being 1pt back of the leader?

even if you exclude what you are asking tavares is still ahead btw. Id need to see Aho put together more than 1 season above 30 goals or 66pts
before he gets into this conversation.

TT,Svech and arguably the best d core in the league...lets not act like Aho is doing it all alone either. The "he plays on a stacked team" argument is pretty weak when JT has been doing it his whole career, even on terrrible isles teams.

JT at one time was voted a top 5 C on these boards. Now he would be lucky to break into the top 10 . What has changed aside from the jersey he wears?

Aho! And he show it in play offs too.

Tavares: 13g/27pts in 31 games (0.87ppg)
Aho: 5g/12pts in 15 games (0.80ppg)

carry on though. lots of free sites where you can actually check stats and not just lazily cast a flawed opinion

Aho, Rantanen is also criminally underrated but Aho is incredibly talented in both ends, and it’s mostly because of his hockey brain and how well he understands and reads the game so he should be able to play for a long time too.

1. In hole season Aho s has 0.97 ppg(After a wrong start) and Tavars 0.95 ppg.
2. Aho is in addition better in defense.
3. Aho is a better skater!

Tavares also plays with other superstars.
While true, Aho doesn't exactly play with a bunch of bums.
Aho has led his team in goals and points in each of the 3 latest seasons when Tavares has led his team in goals once and points 0 times in the same time frame.
This seems like a rather arbitrary and misleading way to compare them, especially considering your preceding sentence.
If you exclude the 17-18 season when Aho was still a 20-year old sophomore and only count the 2 latest seasons their ppg and gpg are very close.
Past 2 years:

ES P/60 (no EN)

Tavares: 2.57
Aho: 2.18

ES G/60 (no EN)

Tavares: 1.41
Aho: 1.00

PP P/60

Tavares: 5.96
Aho: 5.59

PP G/60

Tavares: 2.53
Aho: 1.50
