Eichel. He has a good balance of offense, defense and physical play. Plus he has to be the main driver on the Sabres as he doesn’t have a ton of support.

Gotta be Marchand here for me, he outproduces everyone left offensively while being a clear cut above defensively

Regular Season Stats since 2016:

3rd in PPG behind only McDavid and Kucherov
4th in total points
1st in game winning goals
1st in shorthanded points
10th in goals
4th in +/-

I mean those stats are absurd lol.

I definitely think Marchand is a player who suffers from his reputation. His play is much better than people seem to think, and he should be long gone by now

Matthews and Eichel are pretty close in a lot of regards.

Their offensive output is basically identical this year. Matthews scored more goals. Eichel did it on a significantly worse team. Hard to say which one of those factors weighs more.

Ovechkin really doesn't belong at number 7

I went Marchand here with Matthews/Eichel right behind him

First off, why is Doughty anywhere near this list? He's terrible now.

Second, Ovechkin and Kane are already in the top 11? That's nuts. That would make sense like 5 years ago but now? They're not that good anymore. Malkin's also probably too high but that's not as insane as having Ovechkin and Kane there imo.

Anyways on to the list of remaining players. Here's how I'd rank them:

1. McDavid
2. Pettersson
3. Point
4. Stone
5. Marchand
6. Panarin
7. Crosby
8. MacKinnon
9. Bergeron
10. Couturier
11. Draisaitl
12. Pastrnak
13. Stamkos
14. Hedman
15. O'Reilly
16. Kucherov
17. Matthews
18. Eichel
19. Giroux
20. Pietrangelo
21. Huberdeau
22. Marner
23. Scheifele
24. Hall
25. Josi
26. Tavares
27. Malkin
28. Rantanen
29. Barkov
30. Aho
31. Zibanejad
32. Kane
33. Ovechkin
34. Jones
35. Doughty

So I guess my vote (if I could vote) goes to Pettersson today.

To explain my ranking, I just took the 3 year weighted average of each players' GAR/82, but then I bumped up Crosby and Draisaitl since they were too low. Crosby was hurt by this year (which I don't think is indicative of his true talent) and Draisaitl by 17/18.

You got #1 right but it's all downhill after that. Pettersson, Point and Stone #2-4? Lol. Point is the 3rd best player in Tampa, not the whole league.

Giroux has 53 points this season. Kane has 84 points. Malkin has 74 points in 14 less games.

Kucherov scored more points a season ago than any player in around 25 years (ps - he was named Mario Lemieux). But his teammate Steve Stamkos is better than him. So is Mark Stone of course, who he outscored by 55 points last year, and EP, who he outscored by 60+ points. Got it.

Out of curiosity what team are you a fan of? Because I'm sure I can come up with some super appealing trade offers for you...

Pasta at #11 is outrageous, Eichel, Marchand and Matthews are ahead of him imo.

Voted Eichel, I think Matthews is next

Id say Eichel.

I have him, Marchand and Barkov above Matthews.

These are the 4 guys I considered because he we can't have 2 Dmen in the top 20 right?

Seriously I did also consider Jones and Josi but went Eichel.

I did as well but it's a pretty decent list overall...despite the several blinks.

Also his list has the same problem as this poll, Dmen are getting killed it's almost like it's a points fantasy pool or something.

Outrageous is a strong word. I also perfer Matthews and Eichel to him - but he did just outscore them both by a good margin this year. I think they're all 3 in the same tier, even though Pasta has a much bigger linemate advantage than them.

Lmao at having coutorier and pettetson ahead of a guy whonput up 110 points in 72 games. This whole post is pretty worthless in that regard.

It's an ok list if you ignore the order. The ordering is insane.
