With Ridly Greig & JBD effectively graduating, we are left even thinner in terms of our prospects.
Here is my top 20 list as of January 1st, 2024:

1. Ostapchuk, F
2. Sogaard, G
3. Kleven, D
4. Merilainen, G
5. Jarventie, F
6. Crookshank, F
7. Donovan, D
8. Guenette, D
9. Boucher, F
10. Andonovski, D
11. Hamara, D
12. Stanley, D
13. Petersson, F
14. Halliday, F
15. Mandolese, G
16. Sokolov, F
17. Nordberg, D
18. Reidler, G
19. Toure, D
20. Thomson, D

There is some NHL potential in the top 10 but it drops right off in the bottom 10 with a bunch of raw long-shots and fading prospects. We have some decent depth in Goalie prospects but need a real injection in our D & especially our Forward prospects. Hopefully we see that in the upcoming draft

One of the shallowest pools, despite Sens having top picks years, with some of those key picks graduating to next level. No blue chippers left but think the top-6 ranked have NHL potential.

I am one of the few here that likes Tyler Boucher's skillset (not where he was picked which was a waste), hope he can play the rest of the season as I think he has NHL potential as a physical, prickish player with an NHL shot. Didn't play enough to get ranked.

Absolutely bottom of the barrel, embarrassing for a team as bad for as long as the Sens.
Not really

We moved draft capital for Chychrun which i think has worked out

We moved draft capital for DeBrincat and that didn't work out

All the recent high picks are in the nhl and looking good. Except Boucher who is more a middle pick.

What you've got left are 2nd rounders and later that take a bit longer

Getting nothing out of the Brown and Boucher picks are the big zeroes at this point.

I'm less concerned about prospect lists and more interested in NHL affiliated players 23 and under. You can only ice 20 NHL players, afterall.

  1. Formenton

  10. Boucher
  11. Donovan
  12. Matinpalo
  13. Beckner
Propect pool has suffered for 3 drafts running. I don't mind so much. The well timed, quality decisions to lose multiple picks including two high end 1sts to put us over the hump into being a contender were definitely laudable. Adding Formenton improves the list a fair bit.

Hoping for Kleven, Ostapchuk, one of the goalies and maybe one more to rise Beckner interests me but his ceiling is lower. Still have some hope for Boucher to crack the 4th line at some point as a physical winger

I like the Top-10 (even though we could use more quality) but it gets really bad after that
