Goalies should almost be a separate category. So hard to compare their potential to skaters.

Berglund has always intrigued me, but it sounds like he took a bit of a step back last season.

Still played major minutes(32nd for defensemen in the SHL, right behind Persson) on a decent team though.

Might be an interesting guy to watch in camp.

Marino or Kemp. Although sounds like Marino may end up NCAA free agent next summer.

Gambardella turns 26 this year...maybe past his 'prospect' days

Yeah, he's starting to age out of prospect, but still only his second pro year. I voted for him since he would have led the AHL in goals if he wasn't called up for so much time.

In fact, if he played the same amount of games as the 1/2 guys in the goal scoring race, he would have beat them by 10 goals. Pretty important to see him get 6 more goals in 10 playoff games.

My pick (again) is Gambardella.

I have a feeling he'll be seeing a fair bit of time on the Oilers roster this year if they are trying to use the "platoon" method of finding some offense in the bottom 6... and I think the fact that he's one of the more elder "good players" in Bakersfield will give him the leg up on showing what he can do this year at the NHL level.

It’s Wells then Safin for me. Both have the highest potential at their respective positions in my opinion.

I haven't heard much on Safin but his stats suggest that he has regressed since being drafted

I'm not sure what happened with him but he had 2 points (zero goals) in 23 playoff games last season. Very concerning numbers especially since it's his draft + 2 season. I'm not sure he'll even be a good ECHLer next year.

His development has stalled with multiple injuries. He’s 20. Lots of time to get back on track. Just needs to get healthy. Remember what many thought of Benson coming out of junior.

He had a really good draft +1 year and then he started having trouble with his hip in the summer and it bothered him the whole year and to top it off he hurt his collarbone in the memorial cup. For a guy who is 6’5 Safin’s best asset was his skating, and it was noticeable worse in the games I seen, night and day difference. I’m hoping he’s able to get healthy and regain some traction. If I had a choice I would send him back to the CHL to play an overage season.

Picking Skinner here. He had a strong finish to his WHL career and was playing in the ECHL/AHL as a 19/20 year old. He did good in limited time in the AHL playoffs.

I'm not a pro scout but I don't think he looked particularly strong for Bakersfield, positioning looked very suspect in those games.

Went with Gambardella. I thought he looked pretty good in the few games he got with us last season. Good hustle, not afraid to do dirty work in the corners, stuck up for McDavid once or twice, and never really looked out of the play or lost. Doubt he'll ever become a regular in the lineup, but at 16th best prospect I'm not sure if you can expect much more than top line AHL player/ emergency call up. He has heart and a great attitude though, so I hope he continually improves and finds his way onto the 4th line.

Voted Logan Day.

Surprised he isn’t getting more love.
