Snepsts gets my vote here as well.

I'd give honorable mention to Kearns here (if only because nobody I think has mentioned his name yet :naughty:). Tough to gauge how really good he was (for one thing, I wasn't all that old when he played ) as he was on some REALLY bad teams.

I feel like Reinhart isn't getting enough love for the simple fact that he played his best years in Calgary, but that's not what this is about, is it? It's the best defencemen to ever suit up in Canucks gear, and if so, Paul needs to start getting some more respect in these polls, because he was a beast.

I woulda voted Reinhart #1 if that was the case, but the poll maker made it clear it's the best career with the Canucks rather than just best overall defenseman.

I feel like I've said this enough, but again, no. This is not "most talented player who happened to play for Canucks". Only what they do as Canucks counts. Reinhart only played 2 seasons so it's easy for me to pass him over for now.

among two season wonders, i am looking forward ehrhoff vs reinhart vs jeff brown discussion way down the line. (guevremont and tallon don't belong in that discussion i am guessing.)

Kearns was terrible. He was a sub par player with a bit of offensive flair who got over played by a bad team.

Well you might want to repeat it each time you start a new poll thread, because it's far from obvious if you haven't been taking part from the beginning. It's the off-season. A lot of people aren't exactly checking in on the boards every day like they do when there are games being played.

It's kind of crazy how poor the list is if we were just looking at best defensemen to ever play here. Not even a season of a well past his prime Hall of Famer. The only teams I see without a guy definitely better would be Buffalo, Florida and Columbus.

Most guys on here likely weren't old enough to remember Paul Reinhart.

I also agree that Reinhart was awesome. The only reason why I'm not voting for him is because he didn't spend too much time here.

I don't think it's fair to say that because someone is too young to see someone play live means they can't appreciate how good they were. I don't remember anyone on this list before Ohlund yet I am voting Harold Snepsts above Edler and others.

Back to the poll, was hoping to get a more comfortable lead before calling it, but doesn't look like that's gonna happen. I'll let it go until this evening then call it as it is.
