Pretty simple premise: Who are your top 10 playoff goaltenders of all time post-1967?

Please recommend any additions in the replies if you feel like someone else belongs on the list.

I usually try to avoid inserting myself into my own polls, but I'm a bit tempted to make a case for Belfour here. While I'm not entirely convinced he's better than Brodeur, they're closer than most think.

While it's true that Brodeur has won more cups than Belfour (and also beat him in their head to head matchup in 2000), Eddie was no slouch by any means. If you look at his run from 94-00, he was well above a .920 every post-season, made some decent runs, and had an arguably smythe-worthy performance in 99. He also had some decent longevity as well, as he was nearly 39 years old when he posted a .929 sv % in his final post-season with Toronto in 04.

Belfour's all-time playoff Resume:

Brodeur's all-time playoff Resume:

I usually don't compare numbers head to head without factoring in goalies' teams but it's pretty safe to say both guys played for contenders for a fair amount of their career so I think it's a solid foundation at the least.

I went with Thomas for having the single greatest performance by a Cup winner since Roy.

I'm fine with Brodeur if that's the pick.

Patrcik Lalime? A LOT more goalies should be listed before him, he has a career 905 SV% playing in the DPE

Rinne, Miller, Bobrovsky, Khabibulin, Nabokov, Turco, Varlamov, Burke, Vokoun, Liut....

Why can i vote for Patrick Lalime, but not Felix Potvin?

I didn't want to add too many players originally, so I asked for people to make recommendations. Guys like Barrasso, Lalime and Vernon were all recommended in previous polls. I'll add more players in the next poll unless you think any of them are a candidate for the #4 spot

I originally did this filter (1978-1996 and > 2000 minutes) to look for good goalies who played during low save % eras (such as Potvin) but found that the beginning of Brodeur's career was just crazy dominant.

Brodeur

Belfour (who was also very good during this time)

I believe that Brodeur has a reputation as a boring system goalie because of the construction of the post 2000s NJD teams.

This site is way too obsessed with Hasek and it gets old. Love how the #2 playoff goalie in the last 60 years has 1 Cup as a starter. It's why open polls like this don't work.
As someone who voted Hasek #1, I believe this site is too obsessed with giving individuals credit for team accomplishments.

If you’re voting based on a single run, why not go Giguere then who has probably the single greatest run by any goalie ever?
They didn't win the Cup that year.

Giguere probably should place somewhere on this list, however.

The guy has a 930 SV% over 68GP, and you think a team accomplishment is why he shouldnt be #2. Great logic! Lemme guess, you think MATT MURRAY was a better playoff goalie? Did I get that right?.... and I guess the likes: Smith, Fuhr, Osgood, Vernon, and Crawford are all top 10 on this list for you.

Maybe its people like you who dont work for these kinds of polls.

The type of guy who thinks Dionne was a bum because he has no Cups and played most of his career on a crapass Kings team..... Yet, if he were drafted by the Habs (and won 6-7 Cups) youd consider him a top 6 player all-time.
