Yep should have been postponed 3+ hours before puck drop.
@Yukon Joe so they now have teleporters so the PA guy, ice cleaning staff, off ice officials don't have to drive to the arena?
You guys know that although the article says "weather-related State of Emergency", it wasn't actually the weather itself they were worried about. After all there's no fans in the building.
No, they would have been more worried about the rolling blackouts that have been hitting Texas as a result of the cold weather. Can't play a hockey game in the dark.
I'm not surprised here. Bush league!Reading between the lines, it sounds like the mayor's office contacted them at the 11th hour with notice that they couldn't guarantee consistent power supply to the arena. Can't imagine the league deliberately waited until players were getting dressed to make that call.

it's not just Texas it's Oklahoma including OKC, Arkansas, and Tennessee, AND HEADING toward DCThis isn't something to make fun off. Texas is dealing with a rare rare rare ice/cold storm to the point where they are dealing with rolling blackouts.
I'm talking about the NHL dude. They should have made that decision earlier. This isn't something to make fun off. Texas is dealing with a rare rare rare ice/cold storm to the point where they are dealing with rolling blackouts.
