Annnndd that's why refs and linesman need to stay out of fights until both are exhausted and not really throwing anymore.

He was just trying to get Wilson, who punched him a couple times after he was already down. If there's any blame here, it goes to Wilson. If he didn't keep chucking them, Holzer wouldn't have tossed this final one.

It's obviously a mistake, either way.

But...no, you don't blame Wilson. Holzer made the mistake and punched the linesman in the face. Finding reason to flip around the blame is stupid. Sure...Wilson shouldn't have kept throwing, but the linseman were obviously present and both Holzer and Wilson knew that.

This is such an ignorant statement.

When you're on the ground and getting pummelled, you don't think, it's all instinct and adrenaline.

Holzer and his cheapshots on Wilson while he is down are the reason this fight even happened.

Punching the linesman is all on him, no matter how you look at it.

Cheapshots? Do you know what a cheapshot is?

You're making something very simple wishy-washy, and calling someone else "ignorant" on top of it. It's somewhere between comedic and sad.

Holzer shouldn't have done what he did. Wilson shouldn't have done what he did. The guy who punched the ref is responsible for punching the ref.

No penalty was called on the crosscheck. It was no more of a cheapshot than what OV gave Komorov.

The real problem is Holzer being in the NHL and still thinking he's a tough guy.

Holzer can't fight and he isn't very good.

Holzer either thinks he is a tough guy, or doesn't know who is tough in the NHL. He fought Bogosian, too. Really tough opponents. Against Bogosian he was trying to fight Kane, first.

Whether or not a penalty was called or what happened with OV have no bearing. You can see with your eyes that Holzer cross checks Wilson 3 times.... away from the play... in the final seconds of a 6-2 loss.

It's no suspension worthy knee on knee hit, but he's clearly taking liberties for the sake of taking liberties, and then paying the price that we'd all expect him to pay.

did you watch the game on HNIC? Holzer runs Wilson from behind head first into the boards. Then he crosschecks him three times while he is laying face down on the ice.

3 times. Counted out 1, 2, and 3 times by the HNIC broadcast crew. If I recall Wilson threw 3 more punches after Holzner went down.

Holzer got what he asked for. Clocking the linesman just adds insult to embarrassment.
