Now with more snark
I do not think anyone in AZ is going to say we are headed in the right direction. At this point we are just minimizing past mistakes. There is a lot of work that needs to be done we basically need a new 1st and 4th line, only have 2 D under contract for next year and a GM who has not been here long enough to participate in a draft or put his own spin on the organization other than to grab a few FA from the bargain pile last year. We are a train wreck with no help coming in the next year or so. Our best players are OEL (with an albatross contract and a head that isn't in the game right now) Chychrun and Garland. Kuemper is great but he has 1 year left and wont be here after a rebuild most likely. Even one of our best players isn't very good right now and we don't have picks to package to move him for the classic fresh start trade, and to top it all off he has a NMC clause. We have a few players in the minors that may or may not pan out and a great backup in Hill whom we will probably lose in Seattle. RT may be a great coach and he may succeed in an established cup contending team but he is not succeeding here. He hasn't had the pieces to build a winner and falls in the trap of the Arizona Coach syndrome, win big games and lose games to teams below you in the standings. He cant get the team up for starts, plays his goalies too much and adjustments are poor if at all as has been pointed out by other posters.

The first step to making change in your life is admitting that you have a problem. Here we are. Now we can begin the painful slow process of a rebuild. Again.
