Carlyle is telling his players to do nothing but chip the puck along the boards when they're under pressure in their own zone. Teams are easily taking advantage of this to keep the Leafs in, or to force to the Leafs to just barely clear and come right back in immediately. It's not a coincidence that all these teams are spending 70%+ of the game in our zone at even strength.
